Yoani Sánchez’s Generation Y Liberated

On the cusps of the discussion over how Egypt managed to turn off the Internet, we received news that the Cuban government has unblocked access to "desdecuba.com, a site that hosts dozens of blogs critical of the Communist government, including Yoani Sánchez’s Generation Y, which has been blocked since 2008.

The unblocking of the blogs coincided with an international computer science conference and the arrival of a fiber optic cable connecting Cuba to Venezuela that is expected to dramatically increase the island’s bandwidth."

Congrats to Yoani Sánchez on her upcoming Cuban fanbase!
