  1. I love this book. It will be interesting to see how the movie tells the story.

A nearby school district just banned the book from their curriculum. I don't understand why they chose to do it. I reread the book to see if I missed something that could be "offensive" but found nothing. http://www.modbee.com/local/story/586369.html

  2. I too am very excited about this news. It is one of my favorite books.

I already know the film will not be like the book and I can understand why. Some visions in the book, like the giant gold fish, just translate better when read.

I am excited; however, to see that Carl Franklin who directed Out of Time and One False Move is at the helm.

I do not feel that the film needs a 'Hispanic' director to be true to the story. I do though hope it captures some of the beauty, history and culture of northern New Mexico like The Milagro Beanfield War did.
