Love In The Time Of Cholera: The Movie

John Leguizamo, Hector Elizondo and Fernanda Montenegro have joined the cast of the romantic drama, Love in the Time of Cholera for New Line Cinema.

Mike Newell is directing the film, already starring Javier Bardem, Benjamin Bratt and Giovanna Mezzogiorno; it's the big screen adaptation of the Gabriel Garcia Marquez book.




The film will follow the tale of a man in romantic pursuit of a woman over five decades, says Variety.Production on Love in the Time of Cholera is scheduled to begin September 4th in Cartagena, Colombia, and London; no release date has been set.

  1. I just finished reading that. What an odd book. So distant from its characters, the man devours a parade of women, and yet we never seem to get close or have a reason. Everyone always carries their last name, as if we cannot know them well enough to become familiar. A lot of beautiful moments and imagery, though.
